Product Description
Nitrification is the biological oxidation of ammonia (ammonium ion) into nitrite followed by the oxidation of the nitrites to nitrates. The first step of this 2-step process is carried out in an aquarium by nitrifying bacteria. During this quick process, the ammonium levels drop while the nitrite levels increase. Since nitrite is just as harmful as ammonia, nitrite levels should be maintained at immeasurable levels. A mature biological filter should be able to keep nitrite levels low. Also, if tap water is to be used in an aquarium, it is recommended that it be tested for phosphate, as well as silicate, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, and alkalinity. The HI764 Checker® Handheld Colorimeter bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instrumentation. Chemical test kits are not very accurate, while professional instrumentation can cost hundreds of dollars and can be time-consuming to calibrate and maintain. Hanna Checker®’s are accurate, affordable and easy to use.To begin measurements, first, zero the instrument with your water sample. Next, add the reagent. Last, place the vial into the Checker®, press the button and read the results. It’s that easy. The contoured style of these Checker®’s fit in your palm and pocket perfectly and the large LCD is easy to read. The auto shut-off feature assures the battery life will not be drained if you forget to turn it off.

The HI781 Checker®HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure nitrate in saltwater.
Nitrate is a bi-product of ammonia. It comes from fish waste, plant decay, and leftover food. Over time, nitrate can build up in your aquarium. While low levels are not harmful, too much nitrate can be detrimental to the health of your fish and plants. Both odorless and colorless, nitrate can only be detected by testing.
Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI781 marine nitrate meter provides quick, accurate results in a few easy steps.
Features at-a-glance:
For use with saltwater samples
Easier to use and more accurate than chemical test kits
Dedicated to a single parameter
Small size, big convenience
Ideal for aquariums and marine biology applications.
Product Description
AF Phosphate TestPro is designed for quick measurement of phosphate ions in a marine aquarium. Phosphate is a breeding ground for the growth of undesired algae, so it is very important to constantly monitor its concentration in marine tanks. In addition, a high concentration of phosphate may be harmful to corals. Phosphate levels in the marine aquarium should not exceed 0.02 mg/l (ppm). This Test Kit contains sufficient reagents to perform 40 tests of phosphate concentration.

AF Nitrate TestPro is designed for quick measurement of nitrate ions in marine aquariums.
Nitrate in water is the end result of biological filtration. High concentrations of nitrate cause the growth of undesirable algae. Nitrate levels in reef aquariums should be 2-5 mg/l (ppm). This test kit contains sufficient reagents to perform 40 tests of nitrate concentration.
Product Description
Aquaforest TestPro KH is designed to quickly measure carbonate hardness in the marine aquariums. In order to ensure the proper functioning of the marine aquarium, alkalinity should vary between 6.5-8.0 dKH for Ultra Low Nutrient Systems (ULNS). Higher values are permissible for aquariums with higher nutrients. The set contains enough reagents to perform 78-100 determinations of carbonate hardness.
Product Description
The API® REEF MASTER TEST KIT test 4 key parameters – calcium, carbonate hardness, phosphate, and nitrate – to keep reef inhabitants healthy. Testing is fast, easy, and accurate, yielding precise results, and comes with 4 glass test tubes with snap-tight caps and a convenient holding tub for easy, reusable storage. This kit also includes a complete, step-by-step instructional booklet with a color chart that provides information on how to correct unsafe water conditions.
We recommend that you take a few minutes each week to monitor your aquarium conditions and create a better underwater world for your fish. Testing your aquarium water has never been so easy or accurate!

Product Description
Phosphate can enter your aquarium through tap water, fish waste, and decaying organics such as uneaten food and dead algae. Excess phosphate contributes to unsightly algae blooms. This kit tests phosphate levels from 0 to 10 ppm in fresh and saltwater aquariums.
Test Kit provides easy, accurate test solutions to measure phosphate levels in your aquarium:
Phosphate (150 tests)
Suitable for fresh and saltwater aquariums
This easy to use test kit includes:
2 test bottles with child-safety caps
1 glass test tube with snap tight caps
Laminated colour cards
Instruction booklet
Product Description
High nitrate levels in your aquarium indicate a build-up of fish waste and organic compounds, resulting in poor water quality and an increase in algae growth. Contrarily, maintaining a low nitrate level improves the health of fish and invertebrates.
Use the API® NITRATE TEST KIT to ensure that the nitrate levels in your tank are safe and healthy for your fish. The NITRATE TEST KIT reads parameters from 0 to 160 ppm and may be used for both fresh and saltwater aquariums.
SizesContains 90 tests and includes 2 test solutions, easy-to-ready instructions, glass test tube and color chart
Product Description
Tap water rarely provides the water conditions necessary to maintain an optimal aquarium. Some tap water supplies have very low KH (below 3 ºdKH) which can contribute to wide pH swings in the aquarium. Also, when water evaporates, it leaves behind hardness ions.
The API® KH TEST KIT tests fresh or saltwater aquariums for carbonate hardness (KH), and helps monitor water quality and prevent invisible water problems that can be harmful to fish and plants. Carbonate hardness stabilizes aquarium pH, and can be used to determine the proper dose of pH buffers.
Product Description
Tap water rarely provides the water conditions necessary to maintain an optimal aquarium. Some tap water supplies have very low pH and other locations have a higher pH It is therefore necessary to test the pH to monitor water quality and prevent stressful conditions
The API® High Range pH Test Kit measures pH changes in marine aquariums, aquariums with African Cichlids, and very alkaline tap water. The API® High Range pH Test Kit reads the pH of water within the high range of 7.4 – 8.8, and includes one bottle of test solution and one test tube. Product contains 160 tests, so you can get the most out of your kit for years of fast, accurate testing.
We recommend that you take a few minutes each week to monitor your aquarium conditions and create a better underwater world for your fish. Testing your aquarium water has never been so easy or accurate!
