Sponge filters are a biological filtration that builds up a colony a good bacteria that breaks down the ammonia and nitrite as water passes though them and also collect detritus to help keep a clean aquarium.

The Serenity Turtle Blocks release calcium with vitamin D3 and other minerals into the water slowly. The minerals are idealfor the prevention of shell softening. This can occur when the water becomes too acidic leading to the shell and skin burning.
The health block also has pH buffer ingredients to reduce acid and neutralise ammonia. These chemicals are produced from the turtle’s waste and if left unchecked can cause health issues for your turtle. Ensure regular water changes are carried out.
Make sure you have an area where to turtle can exit the water to dry out and a UVB light for health.
