    Continuum Color Basis Calcium 250ml

Product Description Color•Basis Calcium + is designed to be used with the Coral Color Intense System, which also requires the use of 3 other products simultaneously: Coral Color Intense V, H and MM. The System replaces crucial vitamins, minor and trace minerals lost to coral uptake, and filtration; for growth and intense coloration of live corals. This product, Color•Basis Calcium + along with the Coral Color Intense products above provides the calcium, strontium and other minerals required by the phytopigments that provide color in corals. Use in aquarium keeping. Vitamins and minerals influence the coloration and color intensity of corals by providing essential nutrients for the chemical reactions that take place to form biochromes in living tissues. In addition to the three Coral Intense Supplements, we recommend that you also use Coral Exponential to provide needed amino acids for coral tissue growth. Continue supplementation of major minerals. We recommend Color•Basis Calcium+ (this product), Reef•Basis Magnesium and Reef Basis KH for major mineral supplementation simultaneously. Discontinue iodine and trace element supplements because those will be provided by the Coral Intense System. Feed animals normally. The hobbyist should pay close attention to the alkalinity, or KH of the system and monitor calcium, magnesium and strontium levels. Continuum recommends that you maintain a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7.5 to 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1275 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Directions and protocol. Shake well prior to use. Add 2 capfuls (10 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 3 to 4 times per week. For best results, measure the calcium concentration and add as required to maintain the concentration between 410 and 450 mg/L. Easy expert use. Dosing through use of a drip system is a superior method of addition. Do not mix with buffers or alkalinity supplements prior to addition. See our website for compatibility of supplements. Determine the amount of calcium consumption during the time it takes add the entire volume of your drip system. Determine the amount of Color•Basis Calcium+ to add in milliliters by multiplying your tank capacity in gallons by the amount you want to raise it in mg/l (ppm) and by 0.0757. (Example: if you have a 50 gallon tank and you want to raise the level by 10 ppm with the entire dose, you would multiply 50 x 10 x 0.0757 which equals 37.85 ml of Color•Basis Calcium+ or about 7-1/2 capfuls).

  • Last stock! Continuum Coral Exponential

    Continuum Coral Exponential

Product Description Coral Exponential is a breakthrough product. It encourages new coral tissue growth and increased coloration, by providing solubilized proteins as amino acids and lipids including important omega fatty acids in correct ratios for accelerated growth of live corals and other invertebrates. It is particularly useful for corals that have been damaged in shipping, injured, grazed upon or that have been subject to bleaching in that it makes the job of nutrient uptake and tissue repair much easier for the animal. (However, compromised animals may require medication, other nutrients and special treatment beyond what this product can do. No claims are made that such animals will recover.) Use in aquarium keeping. During times of stress or rapid growth, Corals can utilize dissolved proteins directly from this product, with minimal digestion required, rather than having to rely on their zooxanthellae alone. It is also useful as a regular regimen to assist in normal growth and coloration. In addition to Coral Exponential, it is recommended that you also add Coral•Elements N to provide coral specific minerals and vitamins. When using this product as a food, Continuum recommends that the hobbyist vary the types and sizes of foods delivered into the reef aquarium. Other Continuum foods that make good choices for this food rotation include Ocean Snow, Micro•Blast, Zoo•Blast and Phyto•Blast. Also, occasionally blending the foods and using them as soaks for other foods will give your invertebrates a variety simulating nature. Vary the time of day for feeding, as well, being sure to feed at night for those organisms that primarily feed nocturnally. Many corals feed primarily at night, extending their tentacles and mesentarial filaments, using their nematocysts to capture prey, and entrapping prey on their sticky tentacles with mucus and drawing it into their mouths. Directions and protocol. Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 2 to 3 times per week, in an area of high flow. This product works wonderfully as a food soak or if added to food soak. Expert use. Target feeding is the best method of addition. Use a turkey baster, pipette, or similar tool to release upstream of animals to be fed. Do not touch corals with tool. Do not insert tool into this bottle, particularly do not allow aquarium water to enter the bottle, to do so will introduce bacteria into the product and accelerate its decomposition. Instead, pour appropriate amount of Coral Exponential into a cup and use the tool in the cup. Feed all that you pour and do not return any product to the container (again to prevent contamination).

  • Continuum Marine Bacter Clean M

    Continuum Marine Bacter Clean M

Product Description Bacter Clean•M is a unique marine microbial culture and enzyme product specifically designed to target and clean surfaces of live rock, coral decorations and tank walls, removing stains, loosening and softening debris for easy vacuuming and providing a cleaner, more pristine environment. It will outcompete unwanted substances and loosen the grip of ugly accumulations and coatings making their removal by scraping or vacuuming easy. Its exclusive bacterial formula does much of the work for you, to help provide the beautiful reef or marine aquarium you have always wanted. It will also rapidly breakdown organic waste, leftover food, debris and detritus in marine aquariums, providing essential water quality improvement. Use in aquarium keeping. Continuum recommends that you filter tap makeup water by reverse osmosis, distillation or deionization along with carbon pre-filtration to prevent adding phosphates and silicates to your aquarium. Continuum recommends a phosphate level of less than .02 mg/l (ppm). If you have high phosphate or silicate levels, you can lower them rapidly by using Continuum Captiv•Phos W or Captiv•Phos Fe or liquid Phos•Correx prior to or while using this product. The use of nerite snails, turbo snails, emerald crabs and other grazers is also recommended. Although not required, it would be advantageous to first use Continuum Redox Plus to lower the organic load of the aquarium and to raise the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) and then wait 2 hours before using this product for the first time. Continuum also recommends that you consider using Reef Micro•Fuel, along with the Bacter Clean•M, as an organic carbon source to accelerate the growth and increase the effectiveness of the bacteria in this product. Bacter Clean•M can be used simultaneously with BacterGen•M and BacterGen•MD. If using simultaneously, cut the dosage of each of the other bacterial products in half, and use on different days. Directions and protocol. Place 1 cup (250 ml) of marine aquarium water into a container. Shake product well. Add the recommended amount (see below) of capfuls or ml of Bacter Clean•M to the container of aquarium water. Stir and allow to stand for a few minutes. Add to aquarium in desired location. If also using with BacterGen•M and/or BacterGen•MD, stop their use during the initial two weeks, then cut the addition of those products in half, and use them on different days. Recommended amounts. To rapidly clean aquariums: 6 capfuls (30 ml or one ounce) initially on the first day, then add 1 capful (5 ml) of Bacter Clean•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume, daily for 2 weeks or longer, as necessary to achieve your goals. It is important to do a 10-20% water change, using a quality salt mix, after each 2 weeks of high dosage use, vacuuming all debris and undesirable materials from the live rocks and decorations. At this time, unwanted substances should begin to loosen and come off the rocks easily. Daily use may be continued as long as needed, if desired. Maintenance Dosage: 4 capfuls (20 ml) of Bacter Clean•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume once a week or 3 ml per day.

  • Continuum Ocean Snow

    Continuum Ocean Snow

Product Description Marine snow is a word first coined by American naturalist, marine biologist, and explorer William Beebe in the 1930's to describe the continuous shower of organic and inorganic particles that he observed from his bathysphere. In the ocean, marine snow provides a means of transporting nutrient rich matter from the photic zone near the surface towards the ocean floor. Continuum Ocean Snow replicates this process by providing a rich source of both organic and inorganic nutrients simultaneously. It provides aragonite based inorganic minerals, as well as rich marine proteins and lipids in ratios necessary for coral growth. Use in aquarium keeping. Ocean Snow provides an excellent means of supplying both organic and inorganic nutrients to filter feeding invertebrates of all types. It is useful for hard and soft corals, tube worms, clams, sponges, tunicates and others. Continuum recommends that the hobbyist vary the types and sizes of foods delivered into the reef aquarium. Other Continuum foods that make good choices for this food rotation include Coral Exponential, Micro• Blast, Zoo•Blast and Phyto•Blast. Also, occasionally blending the foods and using them as soaks for other foods will give your invertebrates a variety simulating nature. • Continuum Part A Reef Sculpture

    Continuum Part A Reef Sculpture

Product Description Reef•Sculpture parts A & B, when used together and as directed are an ionically balanced calcium and alkalinity control system. Unlike many other products which will cause a buildup of chlorides or other ions, Reef•Sculpture will maintain seawater ratios of important ions. When used as directed it will maintain calcium and buffering capacity in the same ratio found in natural seawater. It contains no acetate, gluconates, polygluconates or other unnecessary organics to pollute your aquarium. It is phosphate and nitrate free. Use in aquarium keeping. Proper control of calcium level is imperative for the health and growth of corals and many other invertebrates. If the calcium concentration is too low, growth rates will suffer. If it is too high, alkalinity or buffering capacity will be diminished, leading to possible instability of pH. Sufficient magnesium levels are also necessary to maintain the proper balance. It is therefore recommended that the hobbyist measure and control the levels of calcium, magnesium and alkalinity on a regular basis. Strontium is also required for formation of aragonite. Continuum recommends that you maintain a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1250 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L). Do not add part A (or other calcium products) and part B or other buffering (alkalinity products) simultaneously, wait a few minutes and allow for plenty of circulation prior. This way you will avoid unnecessary precipitation and possible cloudiness. Directions and protocol. Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 25 US-gallons (100 L) of marine aquarium water 3 to 4 times per week. For best results, measure the calcium concentration and add as required to maintain the concentration between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm). Expert use. Dosing through use of a drip system is a superior method of addition. Two dosing systems are required to dose part A and part B. Do not mix part A with part B or buffers or alkalinity supplements prior to addition. You may mix it with strontium, calcium, and many other supplements. See our website for compatibility of supplements. Determine the amount of calcium consumption during the time it takes add the entire volume of your drip system. Determine the amount of Reef•Sculpture part A to add in milliliters by multiplying your tank capacity in gallons by the amount you want to raise it in mg/l (ppm) and by 0.0667. (Example: if you have a 100 gallon tank and you want to raise the level by 10 ppm with the entire dose, you would multiply 100 x 10 x 0.0667 which equals 66.7 ml of Reef•Sculpture part A or 13-1/3 capfuls).

  • Continuum Phos.Correx

    Continuum Phos.Correx

Product Description Phos Correx Instant liquid phosphate remover for all marine and reef aquaria Features A technologically advanced, premium quality, maximum strength phosphate remover that immediately and safely begins to reduce the reactive phosphate present in a saltwater aquarium. It may be used on an ongoing basis to keep phosphate levels under control. Keeping a very low to immeasurable phosphate level is one way to keep a cleaner, more pristine aquarium.  Use in aquarium keeping It is not recommended that you add more than the dosage given in the directions, per day, so that you don’t irritate sensitive corals by reducing the phosphate level too rapidly. Because Phos Correx precipitates the reactive phosphate by binding it, it will tend to cause cloudiness in the aquarium, which should be removed by mechanical filtration, and protein skimming and is temporary. It is not, however, meant to be used as a substitute to proper aquarium maintenance. Phosphate levels should be initially controlled by limiting the amount of food being used, controlling the types of foods added and treating any tap water by reverse osmosis, deionization or distillation to remove phosphates contained in the tap water prior to introduction into the aquarium. Growing macro algae will naturally utilize phosphates in the water, thereby reducing the phosphate level.  Directions Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 20 US gallons (50 L) of aquarium water to remove up to 1 ppm of phosphates. Add product near a mechanical filter or protein skimmer inlet. For best results:1) Test the phosphate level with a quality phosphate test kit. Add Phos•Correx as noted above, one capful per 20 US gallons per 1 ppm phosphate tested.2) It is not recommended that you add more than this even if the phosphate level is higher. Wait a day and treat again until the phosphate level is at your target.
