  • Last stock! Fauna Marin Ultra Phos 0.04

    Fauna Marin Ultra Phos 0.04

Product Description Phos 0.04 is a new mixed granulate that safely removes phosphates and yellow matter from the aquarium circuit. The safety of using Phos 0.04 is unique, because the PO4 value cannot fall to 0.00. That is why Phos 0.04 is safe, but at the same time extremely effective. Color and nutrients are firmly bound to the material and not released again, which means that the nutritional value of the aquarium can be kept very low. Unwanted algae growth is effectively prevented and corals can develop their natural colors. Application and dosage Always apply carefully to the aquarium! Use 50 ml Phos 0.04 per 100 liters of water. After 5 days you can increase the amount to 100 ml per 100 liters of water. Check the PO4 content regularly with the FaunaMarin PO4 test set. It is not advisable to use PHOS 0.04 with the low PO4 values. It is best to use PHOS 0.04 behind a UV treatment plant and after fine filtration in a fluid bed reactor. The flow rate can best be regulated at 100 - 200 liters / h. The slower the better. If the PO4 content increases again, replace UltraPhos 0.04 with new material. • MarinePure Biofilter Media 2 inch Cubes

MarinePure Biofilter Media 2 inch Cubes

Product Description MarinePure 2 inch Cubes Biological filtration is the number one key to a nice and stable reef tank, and anytime we can sneak in some MarinePure Biomedia into an All in one tank, sump, or even overflows we will.  We have run density tests and they have proved to be more porous than any live rock we could find.  They are a great base for sponge growth, microfauna, and even coral frags. MarinePure is an inert ceramic material with open flow architecture, extremely high surface area and natural wetting properties. A Single 2” Marine Pure ceramic cube has 720 square feet of surface area. This means you can fit almost 60 times the surface area in the same space verses bioballs. The media’s composition is similar to natural rock formations. MarinePure provides approximately 150,000 sq. Ft per cu. Ft (510 m2/L) of accessible surface area. The properties of MarinePure create a stable home for a dense population of beneficial bacteria that remove ammonia and nitrites from your aquarium. Some systems will also see a decrease in nitrates. MarinePure will work in sumps, trickle filters, wet/dry filters, hang on the back filters or directly in the tank. 100% Tank Tested Most technically advanced bio-filtration substrate High usable surface area for beneficial bacteria growth Open porosity means maximum bacteria exposure to contaminates and promotes excellent water circulation and less clogging Designed specifically to target ammonia and nitrite removal and minimizes nitrates Inert and chemically stable Greater than 80% open porosity Provides consistent water chemistry Reduces tank maintenance Able to support large fish loads Can be cleaned, reused and sterilized

  • Seachem Purigen

    Seachem Purigen

Product Description Purigen® is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all other competing products by over 500%. Purigen® controls ammonia, nitrites and nitrates by removing nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds. Purigen’s impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity. Purigen® darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with bleach. Purigen® is designed for both marine and freshwater use. Rinse before use. Use in a fine mesh (180 micron or less) filter bag such as Seachem’s The Bag™. For best results, Purigen® should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. It may be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter. Each 250 mL treats up to 1,000 L (250 US gallons) for up to six months. Exhaustion is indicated by a pronounced discoloration of the beads to dark brown or black. Regeneration Soak in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours in a non-metallic container in a well ventilated area and away from children. Use regular 8.25% hypochlorite household bleach (non-scented, no dyes, do not use a splash-less bleach). Rinse well, then soak for 8 hours with a solution containing 4 tablespoons of Prime®, or equivalent dechlorinator per cup of water. Rinse well. For freshwater use, soak for 4 hours with a solution containing 2 tablespoons of buffer per cup of water (Discus Buffer®, Neutral Regulator®). Original color and full activity should now be restored and Purigen® is ready for reuse. Caution: some slime coat products may permanently foul Purigen® and render regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if odor of bleach/chlorine is detectable. In case of doubt, soak beads in small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test kit.
