Product Description
Reef•Basis - Captiv Phos Fe is a supreme quality, granular ferric oxide based filtration medium particularly selected for sensitive aquarium environments. It is designed to remove free phosphates and silicates that can act as a fertilizer for unwanted algae or diatoms, directly from the water and will also remove phosphate bearing dissolved organics. It will not kill algae and does not contain any algaecides. It is safe for all marine and freshwater life.
Use in aquarium keeping.
Phosphates enter the aquarium primarily through tap water additions for evaporation or water changes, food addition, particularly brine shrimp, some other frozen foods and use of inexpensive carbon. Silicates enter the aquarium primarily through tap water (natural water contains silicates and water companies add sodium silicate to control equipment corrosion), poor salt mixes, and also improperly filtered additives made from tap water. Phosphates and silicates should be first controlled by the use of water made by reverse osmosis or deionization, limiting phosphate bearing foods and use of a good grade of aquarium carbon from a company you trust. Reef•Basis - Captiv Phos Fe should then be employed to reduce the phosphates that remain, to a level of .04 mg/l (ppm) or less.
Directions and protocol.
Rinse well in cold filtered freshwater, preferably RO or distilled water, but tap water may be used. Discard rinse water. Place loosely in a polyester filter bag or filter chamber and position to gently flow water through the medium or use in a fluidized bed filter. For best results, use a particulate prefilter ahead of the Reef•Basis - Captiv Phos Fe, such as filter floss or fine sponge. Use about 1 gram per gallon of aquarium capacity, or about 1/3 cupful per 100 US gallons (400 L).
Product Description
Power•Cleanse HM is a supreme quality, high activity filtration resin particularly selected for adsorption of copper and other toxic metals in marine, brackish and freshwater systems include planted aquariums. It will outperform fiber pads and is more economical because it can be regenerated. Its light colored beads can turn light blue or shades of gray depending on the metals adsorbed and this indicates the need for regeneration. Power•Cleanse HM is regenerable over and over again for a minimum of 2 years in normal use.
Directions and protocol.
Place loosely in a 200 micron polyester filter bag or filter chamber and position to force water flow through the product. For best results, use a particulate prefilter ahead of Power•Cleanse HM, such as filter floss or fine sponge. Use about 4 ml of product per gallon of aquarium capacity, or about 1 cupful per 60 US gallons (230 L).
Regeneration:
Regeneration should only be undertaken by persons familiar with handling strong acids. If you are not familiar and comfortable, them simply discard and purchase new. Warning: WEAR RUBBER GLOVES AND EYE GOGGLES when handling acid!! Add one part muriatic acid (available at pool supply store, observe directions and warnings on acid container) to four parts water (never add water to acid! only add acid to water). Soak resin until original color is restored or about 1 to 2 hours maximum. Discard solution. Rinse resin with fresh water 3 times and discard water. Let stand in water with 2 tablespoons of Reef•Basis KH Buffer or Flora•Viv KH+ or Basis Cichlid Buffer for 1 hour. Rinse again in fresh or salt water and test pH and make sure it is within 1 pH unit of aquarium pH and resuse as before.
Product Description
Shrimp safe, Basis Power•Cleanse XL is a supreme quality high activity synthetic filtration resin particularly selected for sensitive marine or freshwater aquarium environments. Power•Cleanse XL contains huge numbers of mesopores and macropores suited to adsorption of a wide range of organic pollutants with zero impact on trace minerals and pH. Power•Cleanse XL will remove stains, dissolved organics and toxic gases in marine, brackish and freshwater systems. It will outperform carbon in many environments and is more economical because it can be regenerated. It turns brown or shades of yellow indicating exhaustion and need for regeneration. It is regenerable over and over again for a minimum of 2 years in normal use.
Directions and protocol.
Place loosely in a 200 micron polyester filter bag or filter chamber and position to force water flow through the product. For best results, use a particulate prefilter ahead of Power•Cleanse XL, such as filter floss or fine sponge. Use about 2 ml of product per gallon of aquarium capacity, or about 1 cupful per 120 US gallons (450 L).
Regeneration:
Mix all the table salt that will dissolve in a quantity of water sufficient to submerge a micron bag containing the beads. Normally, this will be about 360 grams in 1 Liter of dechlorinated water. (CAUTION!! we don't recommend use of bleach to regenerate this or any resin. It can kill your fish and will damage the any resin). Massage the bag of beads by hand in the brine (wear rubber gloves), until beads return to off white or light cream color - or until they stop lightening. For best results soak them overnight. They will probably never return to snow white again, but this does not hinder their effectiveness. Rinse several times in freshwater. If for use with freshwater fish, it is best to soak them the final time in distilled water to get all remaining salt out. Reuse as before. Discard when they stop being effective (as indicated by color).
Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains polymeric resin, if ingested drink water. If in eyes flush with water.

Instructions and Guidelines
PHOS Fx is an exceptional macroporous phosphate removal resin for use in both fresh and saltwater environments. Its high capacity, long lasting beads and easy regeneration make it the most cost effective phosphate removal media on the market. PHOS Fx has an unparalleled capacity to adsorb phosphates quickly and safely. Don't let your tank fall victim to algae blooms and coral recession. Protect your aquarium with PHOS Fx! The 250 ml kit will remove 5ppm of phosphates in 250 gallons, 10ppm in 125 gallons and the 500 ml kit will remove 5ppm of phosphates in 500 gallons, 10ppm in 250gallons.
Directions:
Phos Fx should be rinsed under purified water for a few seconds before use. It can be used in a canister filter, media reactor, filter box or
any high flow area of your sump. Use included media bag and zip tie if not being used in reactor. Use Phos Fx in your system until the desired level of phosphates is reached, then remove the bag, rinse and reseal in an airtight container to avoid drying. We do not recommend lowering phosphates more than .5ppm in a 24 hour period. For reef tanks we suggest a Po4 level between 0.5 ppm and 0.08 ppm, however all systems are different and you should use this as a guide only. Once product has exhausted it can be regenerated six times or more. Regeneration is quick and easy with Blue Life USA’s REGEN Fx to Regenerate.
DO NOT LET RESIN DRY OUT!
