  • Continuum Micro Blast

    Continuum Micro Blast

Product Description Micro•Blast is a nutritious, balanced diet for sponges, anemones, gorgonians, small polyped soft and stony corals, clams, feather dusters, tunicates and other fine filter feeders, developed over years of testing. It provides for growth and increased coloration, by providing all of the essential amino acids required by invertebrates, naturally occuring marine lipids, including important omega fatty acids EPA and DHA, and a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals. It also provides rich bioavailable pigments including chlorophyll, carotenoids, and phycocyanin, containing beta-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, lutein, xanthophylis, zeaxanthin, canthaxanthin and other pigments for coloration. Micro•Blast does not require refrigeration, but refrigeration will prolong shelf life. Use in aquarium keeping. It is recommended that you turn off your protein skimmer and other filtration for 15 to 30 minutes prior to adding the Micro•Blast to the aquarium. Be careful when feeding liquid foods, not to overload the system. Nitrite testing is recommended when feeding heavily. It is recommended that you not add more than the recommended dosage of any food per day. Continuum recommends that the hobbyist vary the types and sizes of foods delivered into the reef aquarium. Other Continuum foods that make good choices for this food rotation include Coral Exponential, Phyto•Blast, Zoo•Blast and Ocean Snow. Also, occasionally blending the foods and using them as soaks for other foods will give your invertebrates a variety simulating nature. Vary the time of day for feeding, as well, being sure to feed at night for those organisms that primarily feed nocturnally. Many corals feed primarily at night, extending their tentacles and mesentarial filaments, using their nematocysts to capture prey, and entrapping prey on their sticky tentacles with mucus and drawing it into their mouths. Directions and protocol. Shake well prior to use. Add 1/2 capful (2.5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 2 to 3 times per week, in an area of high flow. More may be added in heavily loaded systems. May also be added at the rate of a few drops per gallon. Expert use. Target feeding is the best method of addition. Use a turkey baster, pipette, or similar tool to release upstream of animals to be fed. Do not touch corals with tool. Do not insert tool into this bottle, particularly do not allow aquarium water to enter the bottle, to do so will introduce bacteria into the product and accelerate its decomposition. Instead, pour appropriate amount of Micro•Blast into a cup and use the tool in the cup. Feed all that you pour and do not return any product to the container (again to prevent contamination).

  • Continuum Ocean Snow

    Continuum Ocean Snow

Product Description Marine snow is a word first coined by American naturalist, marine biologist, and explorer William Beebe in the 1930's to describe the continuous shower of organic and inorganic particles that he observed from his bathysphere. In the ocean, marine snow provides a means of transporting nutrient rich matter from the photic zone near the surface towards the ocean floor. Continuum Ocean Snow replicates this process by providing a rich source of both organic and inorganic nutrients simultaneously. It provides aragonite based inorganic minerals, as well as rich marine proteins and lipids in ratios necessary for coral growth. Use in aquarium keeping. Ocean Snow provides an excellent means of supplying both organic and inorganic nutrients to filter feeding invertebrates of all types. It is useful for hard and soft corals, tube worms, clams, sponges, tunicates and others. Continuum recommends that the hobbyist vary the types and sizes of foods delivered into the reef aquarium. Other Continuum foods that make good choices for this food rotation include Coral Exponential, Micro• Blast, Zoo•Blast and Phyto•Blast. Directions and protocol. Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 2 to 3 times per week. May be used as a food soak or added to food soak. Expert use. Target feeding is the best method of addition. Use a turkey baster, pipette, or similar tool to release upstream of animals to be fed. Do not touch corals with tool. Continuum Phyto.Blast

Product Description Phyto•Blast is a nutritious complex of several naturally occuring marine phytoplankton in a wide range of sizes from 1 to 20 uM. Phyto•Blast is real phytoplankton, aquacultured in saltwater under pristine conditions, not simply a mixture of freshwater algae or ground up vegetables. It provides for growth and increased coloration, by providing proteins, naturally occuring lipids, including important omega fatty acids EPA and DHA, and a wide range of vitamins. It also contains chlorophyll, carotenoids, astaxanthin, zeaxanthin and canthaxanthin for coloration. Phyto•Blast does not require refrigeration, but refrigeration will prolong shelf life. Use in aquarium keeping. Phyto•Blast is useful for feeding hard and soft corals, sponges, filter feeding worms, tunicates and clams of all types. It is particularly suited for those that feed on microplankton. It is recommended that you turn off your protein skimmer and other filtration for 15 to 30 minutes prior to adding the Phyto•Blast to the aquarium. Be careful when feeding liquid foods, not to overload the system. It is recommended that you not add more than the recommended dosage of any food per day. Continuum recommends that the hobbyist vary the types and sizes of foods delivered into the reef aquarium. Other Continuum foods that make good choices for this food rotation include Coral Exponential, Micro•Blast, Zoo•Blast and Ocean Snow. • Continuum Reef Micro.Fuel

    Continuum Reef Micro.Fuel

Product Description Reef Micro•Fuel is gentle on the system, it provides an alcohol free, non-flammable and sugar free rich carbon source for accelerated growth of bacterioplankton for food sources for corals and other invertebrates as well as for the crucial functions of nitrification, denitrification, nutrient assimilation and remineralization. Proper use of Reef Micro•Fuel will result in reduction of nitrates and phosphates to very low levels providing for a cleaner and more beautiful aquarium. Use in aquarium keeping. Reef Micro•Fuel works well, as a growth accelerator, for natural bacteria in the marine aquarium by stimulating reproduction, and particularly well with microbial cultures such as BacterGen•M or BacterGen•MD. It can be used in place of alcohol or other food sources in denitrators, as well. Continuum recommends that you consider using BacterGen•M regularly, along with the Reef Micro•Fuel to replenish and accelerate the growth and maintenance of both aerobic and anaerobic bacterial populations in your aquarium. This will reduce the levels of toxic ammonia, and nitrites, as well as phosphates and organic pollutants. BacterGen•MD is designed to be used primarily to establish and accelerate anaerobic bacterial populations in denitrators and live rock, helping to keep nitrates in check. Directions and protocol. Shake well prior to use. Always use this product with a well functioning protein skimmer (which can be turned off, if desired, upon initial addition, but should be re-started within a few hours of addition). Monitor phosphate and nitrate test readings during use. Add the following dosages depending on type of system:Normal Systems: Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water daily. When phosphate and nitrate test readings are basically immeasurable, lower dosage by 50%, and adjust up or down as needed to maintain proper levels.Low Nutrient Systems: Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 100 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water daily. Measure phosphate and nitrate levels and lower addition amounts until levels begin to rise. Adjust up or down as needed to maintain proper levels.
