Zoo•Blast is a nutritious complex of several naturally occuring zooplankton in a wide range of sizes from 200 to 2,000 uM. Zoo•Blast is not made from ground up shrimp or fish like several other products are, but is made with actual plankton! Zoo•Blast provides for growth and increased coloration, by providing proteins, naturally occuring lipids, including important omega fatty acids EPA and DHA, and a wide range of vitamins. It also contains carotenoids, for coloration. Zoo•Blast does not require refrigeration, but refrigeration will prolong shelf life.
Use in aquarium keeping.
Zoo•Blast is useful for feeding hard and soft corals, sponges, filter feeding worms, tunicates and clams of all types. It is particularly suited for those that feed on mesoplankton. Many species of marine fishes will also feed on Zoo•Blast. It is recommended that you turn off your protein skimmer and other filtration for 15 to 30 minutes prior to adding the Zoo•Blast to the aquarium. Be careful when feeding liquid foods, not to overload the system. It is recommended that you not add more than the recommended dosage of any food per day. ULNS Nitro is a complex inorganic nitrogen source designed to promote natural phosphorus uptake and nutrient control in ultra low nutrient systems which are nitrate limited. It provides an important nutrient source for nutrient assimilation and biological balance in the aquarium. It is recommended for use by advanced hobbyists. Bleaching or coral tissue degradation may occur in ULNS systems where adequate nutrient content is not maintained. ULNS systems depend on bacterial management of phosphate in a balanced carbon and nitrogen environment which allows rapid uptake of excess dissolved organic compounds. The conversion to bacterial biomass allows protein skimming to export unwanted nutrients that would otherwise build up in the system. This recycling of nutrients requires that all necessary nutrients, i.e. nitrogen, phosphorus, and carbon be present in concert.
Use in aquarium keeping.
For maximum results, Continuum recommends that you use this product with BacterGen•M, BacterGen•MD or BacterClean•M to keep microbe levels at optimum, along with Reef Micro•Fuel to replenish and accelerate the growth aerobic anaerobic, and facultative bacterial populations. If phosphorus ( or phosphate ) levels are too low, then also use Continuum ULNS Phos to boost them to the proper level. Caution, overuse or improper use of this product can promote unwanted algae growth!

Shake well immediately prior to use. Do not overuse! Testing must be employed to use this product! First test nitrate and phosphate level. If nitrate level is below 3.0 ppm, proceed with use of this product. If phosphate level is below .01 ppm or undetectible, you will need to also use ULNS Phos together with this product.
Expert use.
Easy Calculations based on measured phosphate level: (Continuum recommends an nitrate level of 3.0 to 5.0 ppm in the aquarium.) To increase the nitrate level .50 ppm in the aquarium, you will add 5 ml of ULNS Nitro for every 25 gallons (100L) of aquarium capacity. The calculation is: ml of product = tank capacity in gallons x PPM of nitrate addition x 0.4 (Example: if you have a 100 gallon tank and you are raising the nitrate level by .5 ppm you would multiply 100 x .5 x .4 which equals 20.0 ml of ULNS Nitro or about 4 capfuls). Wait 24 hours and re-test Nitrate and Phosphate levels. If they are unchanged, then the system is carbon limited. In this case add Reef Micro•Fuel as directed on its bottle. Repeat these steps until phosphate level reaches .02 ppm and Nitrate is 3.0 to 5.0 ppm. If phosphate level reaches .02 ppm and nitrate level is below 3.0 ppm, then add more ULNS Nitro to bring it up.

It will also rapidly breakdown organic waste, leftover food, debris and detritus in marine aquariums, providing essential water quality improvement.
Use in aquarium keeping.
Continuum recommends that you filter tap makeup water by reverse osmosis, distillation or deionization along with carbon pre-filtration to prevent adding phosphates and silicates to your aquarium. Continuum recommends a phosphate level of less than .02 mg/l (ppm). If you have high phosphate or silicate levels, you can lower them rapidly by using Continuum Captiv•Phos W or Captiv•Phos Fe or liquid Phos•Correx prior to or while using this product. The use of nerite snails, turbo snails, emerald crabs and other grazers is also recommended. Although not required, it would be advantageous to first use Continuum Redox Plus to lower the organic load of the aquarium and to raise the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) and then wait 2 hours before using this product for the first time. Continuum also recommends that you consider using Reef Micro•Fuel, along with the Bacter Clean•M, as an organic carbon source to accelerate the growth and increase the effectiveness of the bacteria in this product. Bacter Clean•M can be used simultaneously with BacterGen•M and BacterGen•MD. If using simultaneously, cut the dosage of each of the other bacterial products in half, and use on different days.
Directions and protocol.
Place 1 cup (250 ml) of marine aquarium water into a container. Shake product well. Add the recommended amount (see below) of capfuls or ml of Bacter Clean•M to the container of aquarium water. Stir and allow to stand for a few minutes. Add to aquarium in desired location. If also using with BacterGen•M and/or BacterGen•MD, stop their use during the initial two weeks, then cut the addition of those products in half, and use them on different days.
Recommended amounts.
To rapidly clean aquariums: 6 capfuls (30 ml or one ounce) initially on the first day, then add 1 capful (5 ml) of Bacter Clean•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume, daily for 2 weeks or longer, as necessary to achieve your goals. It is important to do a 10-20% water change, using a quality salt mix, after each 2 weeks of high dosage use, vacuuming all debris and undesirable materials from the live rocks and decorations. At this time, unwanted substances should begin to loosen and come off the rocks easily. Daily use may be continued as long as needed, if desired.
Maintenance Dosage: 4 capfuls (20 ml) of Bacter Clean•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume once a week or 3 ml per day.

Reef•Basis Strontium is a high quality, maximum strength ionic strontium solution which is two to three times as strong as most competing products and designed to safely raise the strontium level in marine aquariums, providing essential strontium for increased growth rates in corals, coraline algae, crustaceans and many other marine organisms. It contains no acetate, gluconates, polygluconates or other unnecessary organics to pollute your aquarium. It is phosphate and silicate free. May be used simultaneously with Kalkwasser.
Use in aquarium keeping.
Strontium is required for formation of aragonite accounting for up to 1% of its weight, and some strontium is lost to precipitation. With regular use of Reef•Basis Strontium, corals will open more, resist bleaching and resist skeletal rejection better. Continuum recommends that you maintain a strontium level of between 8 and 13 mg/L (ppm), a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1250 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L). Do not add Reef•Basis Strontium to buffering (alkalinity) products.

Dosing through use of a drip system is a superior method of addition. Do not mix with buffers or alkalinity supplements prior to addition. Determine the amount of strontium consumption during the time it takes add the entire volume of your drip system. Determine the amount of Reef•Basis Strontium to add in milliliters by multiplying your tank capacity in gallons by the amount you want to raise it in mg/l (ppm) and by 0.133. (Example: if you have a 100 gallon tank and you want to raise the level by 1 ppm with the entire dose, you would multiply 100 x 1 x 0.133 which equals 13.3 ml of Reef•Basis Strontium or about 2-2/3 capfuls).

Basis Chaeto Grow is a high quality, bio-available, wide range, invertebrate safe multi-nutrient fertilizer for chaetomorpha and other macro algae. It contains all the nutrients that macro algae require to grow except phosphorus and nitrogen. Nitrogen or phosphorus may be required for very rapid plant growth in the heavily planted aquarium or in the case of very light fish load. Simultaneous use of Bacter•Gen M or Bacter•Clean M to establish and sustain growth of proper microorganisms and recycle aquarium nutrients will greatly benefit all algae and the ecosystem in general. The use of Reef Micro Fuel or Reef Bio Pellet•Fuel will provide additional carbon for heavy chaeto growth. Growth of all photosynthetic organisms also requires strong lighting of proper spectrum. Reef•Basis - Captiv Phos Fe is a supreme quality, granular ferric oxide based filtration medium particularly selected for sensitive aquarium environments. It is designed to remove free phosphates and silicates that can act as a fertilizer for unwanted algae or diatoms, directly from the water and will also remove phosphate bearing dissolved organics. It will not kill algae and does not contain any algaecides. It is safe for all marine and freshwater life.
Use in aquarium keeping.
Phosphates enter the aquarium primarily through tap water additions for evaporation or water changes, food addition, particularly brine shrimp, some other frozen foods and use of inexpensive carbon. Silicates enter the aquarium primarily through tap water (natural water contains silicates and water companies add sodium silicate to control equipment corrosion), poor salt mixes, and also improperly filtered additives made from tap water. Phosphates and silicates should be first controlled by the use of water made by reverse osmosis or deionization, limiting phosphate bearing foods and use of a good grade of aquarium carbon from a company you trust. Reef•Basis - Captiv Phos Fe should then be employed to reduce the phosphates that remain, to a level of .04 mg/l (ppm) or less.

Rinse well in cold filtered freshwater, preferably RO or distilled water, but tap water may be used. Discard rinse water. Place loosely in a polyester filter bag or filter chamber and position to gently flow water through the medium or use in a fluidized bed filter. Power•Cleanse HM is a supreme quality, high activity filtration resin particularly selected for adsorption of copper and other toxic metals in marine, brackish and freshwater systems include planted aquariums. It will outperform fiber pads and is more economical because it can be regenerated. Its light colored beads can turn light blue or shades of gray depending on the metals adsorbed and this indicates the need for regeneration. Power•Cleanse HM is regenerable over and over again for a minimum of 2 years in normal use.
Directions and protocol.
Place loosely in a 200 micron polyester filter bag or filter chamber and position to force water flow through the product. For best results, use a particulate prefilter ahead of Power•Cleanse HM, such as filter floss or fine sponge. Use about 4 ml of product per gallon of aquarium capacity, or about 1 cupful per 60 US gallons (230 L).
Regeneration:
Regeneration should only be undertaken by persons familiar with handling strong acids. If you are not familiar and comfortable, them simply discard and purchase new. Warning: WEAR RUBBER GLOVES AND EYE GOGGLES when handling acid!! Add one part muriatic acid (available at pool supply store, observe directions and warnings on acid container) to four parts water (never add water to acid! only add acid to water). Soak resin until original color is restored or about 1 to 2 hours maximum. Discard solution. Rinse resin with fresh water 3 times and discard water. Let stand in water with 2 tablespoons of Reef•Basis KH Buffer or Flora•Viv KH+ or Basis Cichlid Buffer for 1 hour. Rinse again in fresh or salt water and test pH and make sure it is within 1 pH unit of aquarium pH and resuse as before.
