Product Description
Seachem Amguard detoxifies toxic Ammonia for 48 hours. High levels of Ammonia can be lethal to fish.
Seachem AmGuard
Detoxifies Ammonia for up to 48 hours
Ideal for emergency situations
More effective than any other ammonia-binding product
Most concentrated product on the market
AmGuard safely, rapidly and efficiently removes toxic free ammonia. It is safe to use during tank cycling and is ideal for treating emergency situations.
AmGuard is the strongest liquid ammonia binder on the market. It works within minutes to detoxify free ammonia, and it doesn’t degrade for nearly forty-eight hours. That’s nearly twice as long as our competitor's products.
Unlike competing products, AmGuard converts it into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. It does not alter pH.
Ammonia can exist in two forms: free and ionised. It is only the free form that is toxic.
Traditional ammonia test kits convert all ammonia to free ammonia by raising pH to 12–14; at this pH AmGuard cannot function and thus a false positive reading will result.
For long term ammonia control, use Seachem Stability and Matrix. Use Ammonia Alert or MultiTest: Free & Total Ammonia to directly monitor levels of free ammonia. AmGuard also removes chlorine and chloramines.
Directions
Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 200 L (50 US gallons) daily or as needed to reduce ammonia.
ADVANCED:
If you have an Ammonia Alert that is reading “Alert”, then use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 400 L (100 gallons) daily.
If it reads “Alarm”, then use 1 capful for every 200 L (50 gallons) daily.
If it reads “Toxic”, then use 1 capful for every 80 L (20 gallons) daily.
EXPERT:
If using our MultiTest: Free & Total Ammonia test kit, use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 40 L (10 gallons) to remove 1 mg/L (ppm) of free ammonia.
Alternatively you may employ the following formula for a variety of ammonia and water levels: 0.125AV=m (for volume in litres) or 0.5AV=m (for volume in gallons).
A=ammonia concentration in mg/L, V=the volume of water being treated and m=the volume of AmGuard to use in mL. For example, to remove 1 mg/L of ammonia in 100 gallons you would use 0.5*1*100=50 mL.
If water temperature is above 30 °C (86 °F) do not use.
Product Description
Ammonia Alert® is an innovative color device for continuously detecting and monitoring toxic free ammonia. A sensor changes reversibly from yellow to green to blue, relative to the ammonia concentration. No test kits, chemicals, or procedures are needed. The device detects less than 0.05 mg/L (ppm) free ammonia and alerts you to the #1 killer before any sign of stress. It lasts over a year. This product is not recommended for use at acid pH. Marine or freshwater use.
In the absence of free ammonia the unit will assume a yellow or faint yellow-green color. It is normal for the dry sensor to have a greenish hue. It may take up to a few days for a dry sensor to equilibrate with the water. No sampling of water, chemicals, or test procedures are required. The presence of the free ammonia is detectable continuously with a response time of about 15 minutes. Response to decreasing ammonia is slower, requiring about 4 hours to go from TOXIC to SAFE on removal of ammonia.
Ammonia Alert® lasts over 9X as long as competing products. Ammonia Alert® is also almost half the size of competing products. It's small, clear, and unobtrusive, so it won't detract from the view of your aquarium.
No care is required beyond removing algae with a clean, soft material. Avoid touching the sensor with fingers, since skin oils can damage it. Do not use bleach, soap, detergents or hard objects to clean the sensor. Some dye medications may discolor the sensor. Sensitivity improves with age, provided the unit is not allowed to dry out, however, drying does not permanently impair the unit. For maximum sensitivity, the unit should be read under natural daylight or daylight simulating light. Red enhancing light minimizes green and blue hues, decreasing the apparent sensitivity of the unit. The response of the unit may be checked by holding it briefly over the mouth of an ammonia bottle: color should develop rapidly.
Product Description
Arowana Buffer™ adjusts pH to 6.5 from either a low or high pH and maintains it there for 2–4 weeks. It safely softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium. It also supports the ability of arowanas to resist infections. It is the buffer of choice for conditioning water for Asian Arowanas.
Direction
Use 1 level teaspoon for every 40 L (10 gallons) once or twice a month (or as necessary to maintain a pH of 6.5.) Arowana Buffer™ may be initially used daily in cases of high alkalinity until 6.5 is established. It may be added directly to the aquarium at any time. Ideally, it should be used when adding or changing water by dissolving in the replacement water.

Product Description
Seachem Axolotl Conditioner™ is a concentrated aquarium water conditioner that makes tap water safe for Axolotls by removing chlorine, chloramine and detoxifying ammonia. It converts ammonia, which is highly toxic to Axolotls, into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Axolotl Conditioner™ also detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them making it effective during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Additionally, it detoxifies any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Axolotl Conditioner™ is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Use Seachem Axolotl Buffer™ for safe and effective pH management. Axolotls can produce high levels of ammonia so it is very important to cycle your aquarium with beneficial bacteria such as Seachem Stability® to safely establish and maintain efficient biofiltration.

Product Description
Seachem’s Brackish Salt™ is a chemically sound blend of salts designed to replicate the native environment of live bearers and other brackish estuary fish without adversely impacting aquatic plants when used at regionally specific recommended dosage. The salt is also well suited for routine aquarium freshwater use. It does not impact pH or provide buffering.
Unlike other aquarium salts currently available to the hobbyist, Brackish Salt™ is more than just a simple sodium chloride product. These other salts can burn leaves and roots in a planted aquarium. However, Brackish Salt™ does not cause this type of damage, and actually provides many nutrients crucial to healthy plant growth. Dosing of Brackish Salt™ allows for specific duplication of different brackish water environments found worldwide (such as the waters of Sumatra or the waters of Borneo). Brackish Salt™ can also be dosed for general brackish water community aquariums and general freshwater community aquarium. Brackish Salt™ is a safe and effective alternative to the sodium chloride based aquarium salts so prevalent
Direction
Use when setting up an aquarium and when making water changes. To add salt to an established tank, do so gradually. It is best to dissolve the salt in freshwater before use. Avoid using salt when simply replacing evaporated water.
For live bearers (such as guppies, swordtails, platies, some mollies), use 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons).
For estuary fish from the Yucatan or Sri Lanka (Archers, Chromides, some mollies), use 15 g (~2 teaspoons) for each 12 L (3 US gallons).
For estuary fish from Thailand, Cambodia, Borneo, or Sumatra (Datnioides), use 40 g (~2 tablespoons) per 12 L (3 US gallons).
For scats, use up to 80 g (~4 tablespoons) per 12 L (3 US gallons). This dose is not for planted aquaria.
For mixed populations, use an average dose, representative of species present. For specific information on your fish, check with your dealer or other reference source.
For general aquarium salt use (either for mineral replacement or disease control), use 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons).

Product Description
Reef Builder™ raises carbonate alkalinity (KH) without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Used as directed, Reef Builder™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef Builder™ and Reef Buffer™ may be used together. Use Reef Builder™ to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef Buffer™ to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH. Reef alkalinity should be maintained at 3–5 meq/L (8–14 dKH). Alkalinity should not be allowed to fall below 2 meq/L.
Beginner
Use 3 g (1/2 level teaspoon) per 150 L (40 US gallons) twice a week. Dissolve in at least 250 mL (1 cup) of freshwater. Check alkalinity every 2 weeks and adjust amount or frequency accordingly. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.
Advanced
Check alkalinity (use MultiTest™ Marine pH & Alkalinity to test alkalinity levels), then follow addition regimen above until alkalinity is adjusted to 3-6 meq/L (8-17 dKH). Each 3 g/150 L will raise alkalinity by about 0.25 meq/L. Quantity or frequency can be adjusted, but do not exceed 12 g/150 L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain alkalinity.
Expert
After determining the alkalinity consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula (or skip the math and use our Dosage Calculator) to determine how much to add to your top–off water: m=0.08va (m=grams to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in liters, a=amount to raise alkalinity in meq/L). For example, if you want to raise your alkalinity by 1 meq/L in a 200 liter tank, then you would add 0.08x200x1=16 g into the top–off water. [For reference: 1 gallon=3.8 liters, 6 g=1 teaspoon].
Product Description
Cichlid Lake Salt™ is a chemically sound blend of salts designed to replicate the natural environment of Rift Lake African Cichlids. It contains all physiologically essential elements such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, and includes trace components such as iron, aluminum, and iodide.
Although the major Rift Lakes contain basically the same mineral salts, they do so in greatly differing concentrations. Cichlid Lake Salt™ is formulated so that dosages vary depending on the lake of origin and need only be added when setting up an aquarium or with water changes. Many competing products are little more than combinations of Epsom salt and bicarbonate of soda. This will not provide a complete replication of the mineral salts that are contained in the lakes of Africa, in particular calcium and potassium. Seachem’s Tanganyika Buffer™ (pH 9.0–9.4) and Malawi/Victoria Buffer™ (pH 7.8–8.4) should be used to adjust carbonate hardness and pH.
Product Description
Clarity™ is the ultimate clarifier for both fresh and saltwater. It employs an advanced polymeric flocculating agent that is both reef and plant safe. Clarity™ is the only clarifier on the market that does it all! Clarity™ will clear all types of clouding.
Many companies manufacture multiple products to clear up each type of cloudiness and each different environment (e.g. freshwater, marine, reef, etc.). Some companies have developed products that will clear most types of cloudiness, but their application requires two separate bottles of product. Clarity™ contains compounds that will clear all types of cloudiness in all environments.
Clarity™ contains both precipitating and flocculating agents in the same bottle, enabling all types of cloudiness to be removed in one dose.
Upon adding Clarity™ to the water, you will see a cloudy haze begin to form. This is normal and means that Clarity™ is beginning to work. The water is filled with tiny pieces of floating matter that were not visible to the naked eye. Clarity™ makes those pieces of matter begin to clump together. As they clump together they form larger pieces of matter that are now visible, hence the cloudiness. Once this matter has clumped together, it is a simple matter of mechanical filtration to remove the residue. Matter that was once too small to get caught in filter media is now in large enough clumps.
In order for Clarity™ to work effectively, you should have a filter with mechanical filtration (e.g., filter floss) connected to your aquarium.
