    Seachem Reef Reactor LG 4L

Product Description Reef Reactor™ is a high-purity source of aragonite, which supplies all important elements for optimal ionic balance and robust coral growth and coloration in reef aquaria. It has a grain size of approximately 1-3 cm. (Reef Reactor™ Md is 0.5 - 1 cm). It is intended for use in calcium reactors where it is dissolved slowly with the addition of CO2. As it dissolves, it provides calcium, magnesium, strontium, potassium, and carbonates among other important elements for reef aquaria. It is excellent at increasing and stabilizing alkalinity, which also supports a stable pH and encourages the rapid formation of coral skeletal material. With high levels of both calcium and magnesium, it offers an excellent means of balanced supplementation for rapid growth and propagation of corals and calcareous animals in reef aquaria. It possesses the highest level of soluble potassium of all competing brands while exhibiting the lowest levels of both aluminum and phosphorus. Direction: Rinse Reef Reactor™ prior to initial placement in your calcium reactor. The rate of water flow through the reactor in conjunction with the pH of the water inside the reactor will control the rate of media dissolution. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions furnished with the calcium reactor and adjust the rates of water flow and CO2 injection to attain the desired concentrations of calcium and alkalinity in the effluent.

  • Seachem Reef Trace 500ml

    Seachem Reef Trace 500ml

Product Description Replenishment of a number of trace elements is required to maintain an environment ideal for the growth and reproduction of marine life, but while the importance of trace elements has been recognized by aquarists for many years, the physiological reasons are not fully understood. The chemical elements in seawater are varied, and, likewise their addition to the aquarium in trace quantities has varied effects on a variety of saltwater plant and invertebrate species. In general, though, these elements are important for metabolic processes and pigment formation. Addition of iron, for instance, has been shown to benefit coloring and growth for corals, anenomes, and other photosynthetic animals. Reef Trace™ supplies a broad range of trace elements demonstrated to be necessary for proper reef health and growth. Trace elements are normally depleted by utilization, oxidation and precipitation. The latter two processes occur more rapidly than with other micronutrients. This makes it important to restore trace elements on a regular basis. Reef Trace™ may be used alone or in conjunction with Reef Plus™. Best results are obtained when both are used. Reef Trace™ is nitrate/phosphate free. Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 80 L (20 US gallons) twice a week. When using in conjunction with Reef Plus™, dose on alternate days.

  • Seachem Renew 100ml

    Seachem Renew 100ml

Product Description Renew™ is ideal for use in systems where phosphate released from all activated carbons poses a problem. Renew™ is also less aggressive than carbon, making it well suited for reefs and planted aquaria. It is also beneficial for use in soft water aquaria where the pH-raising property of many carbons is not an asset. Renew™ will remove organics and particulates in the sub-micron range; it will also help control ammonia, nitrates, and phosphates. Sizes: 100 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, 1 L, 2 L, 4 L Renew™ should be used in exactly the same manner as activated carbon. Use 250 mL for each 120–160 L (30–40 US gallons). For best results, Renew™ should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. Use in a filter bag such as the Zip Bag™. Although Renew™ is clean, it is advisable to rinse before use. It lasts about the same as carbon (4–6 weeks).

  • Seachem Safe

    Seachem Safe

Product Description Safe™ is the complete and super-concentrated dry conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Safe™ removes chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It is non-acidic and will not impact pH. A further bonus for the reef hobbyist—Safe™ will not over-activate skimmers. Safe™ may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. It contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. When transporting or quarantining fish, use Seachem StressGuard™. When adding new fish, use Stability®. Both are ideal for use with Safe™. Use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 US gallons) for ammonia. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. NOTE: These directions supersede all other prior packaging. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite and nitrate in an emergency, up to 4 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30 °C (86 °F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.

  • Seachem SeaGel

    Seachem SeaGel

Product Description SeaGel™ is a blend of MatrixCarbon™ and PhosGuard™ and is is optimized specifically for aquaria where organic color body and acid removal is required without the introduction of phosphate. MatrixCarbon™ is an ultracapacity carbon for the removal of organic and color impurities. PhosGuard™ is a powerful remover of phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids. Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use. SeaGel™ may also be used in freshwater that is not phosphate buffered. Although MatrixCarbon™ has the lowest detectable leachable phosphate content of all major carbon brands tested, some phosphate is still released. Adding PhosGuard™ to the mix compensates for this. Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use. For best results, SeaGel™ should be rinsed before use and placed in your filter so as to maximize the flow of water through it. Use caution, since product will fizz and heat on initial wetting. Use 250 mL for each 150–225 L (40–60 US gallons). Use in a filter bag such as Seachem’s The Bag™ or Zip Bag™. SeaGel™ will function 3–4 months.

  • Seachem Stability

    Seachem Stability

Product Description Stability® will rapidly and safely establish the aquarium biofilter in freshwater and marine systems, thereby preventing the #1 cause of fish death: "new tank syndrome". Stability® is formulated specifically for the aquarium and contains a synergistic blend of aerobic, anaerobic, and facultative bacteria which facilitate the breakdown of waste organics, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. The bacteria employed by Stability® are non-sulfur fixing and will not produce toxic hydrogen sulfide. Stability® is completely harmless to all aquatic organisms as well as aquatic plants, thus there is no danger of over use. Stability® is the culmination of nearly a decade of research and development and represents the current state of the art in natural biological management. The bacteria used in competing products are inherently unstable. The conditions necessary for their growth and development fall into a very narrow range of temperatures, pH, organic loads, etc. When any of these parameters are not strictly within the proper range, the bacterial culture quickly crashes and dies. Stability® is not limited this way. The necessary conditions for the growth of Stability's™ bacteria strains encompass a very broad range. When other bacteria begin to die off (usually from high organic loads caused by the undetected death of an organism), Stability™ simply becomes more effective. Directions Shake well before use. Turn off UV/ozone. Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 US gallons) on the first day with a new aquarium. Then use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 US gallons) daily for 7 days. Fish and other aquatic species may be introduced at any time as long as dosage is maintained for 7 days. For optimum biofilter performance use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 US gallons) once a month or with each water change and whenever introducing new fish or whenever medicating an aquarium. Product shelf life is 4 years from date of manufacture. Stability® should ideally be used in conjunction with biological filtration such as Seachem Matrix™. For emergency ammonia control, use Seachem AmGuard™.

  • Seachem Stress Guard

    Seachem Stress Guard

Product Description StressGuard™ is the premium slime coat protection product. StressGuard™ will reduce stress and ammonia toxicity whenever handling or transporting fish. StressGuard™ binds to exposed protein in wounds to promote healing of injured fish and to reduce the likelihood of primary and secondary infections. StressGuard™ is compatible with all medications except those that are copper based. StressGuard™ is not amine based and will not interfere with Purigen®; or HyperSorb™ regeneration. StressGuard™ does not coat resins or clog filtration like competing “slime coat” type products can. What makes StressGuard™ very successful at healing is the fact that it contains protein active colloids. This protein active colloidal agent actively seeks out any wounds, abrasions, or places where exposed proteins are and attaches to this area to help directly deliver the disinfectant in the product and start the healing process. This protein active colloid, because it binds to the exposed proteins, also acts like a liquid bandage to the abrasion. Some products are marketed to be squirted in the bag when a fish is purchased. Those products are generally acidic, with some brands being a very strong acid. Putting such a product in a small, enclosed container with a fish often does more harm than any intended good. StressGuard™ has a pH of 7.0. It will not affect the pH of an aquarium, even at large doses. There are no other products on the market that can compare to the effectiveness of StressGuard™. Sizes: 50 mL, 100 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, 4 L

  • Seachem Tidal HOB Power Filter

    Seachem Tidal HOB Power Filter

Product Description Tidal™ Power Filters are designed from the ground up to provide your aquarium with high-quality, comprehensive filtration. They are easy to use and adaptable to a variety of aquarium conditions. With a host of features including a self-priming pump, dual water intake with surface skimmer, adjustable flow, maintenance monitor, self-cleaning impeller, and a filter basket that holds any kind of filtration media - and more of it - Tidal™ Power Filters are designed to deliver the highest water quality possible with maximum versatility and ease of use. They are suited to a wide variety of aquarium setups from saltwater to freshwater, ranging in size from 55 gallons to 110 gallons. All Tidal™ Filters have a 3 year warranty that can be extended to 5 years by registering your filter. Innovative Design Ventilation slots in the lid of the filter and aeration grooves in the outflow ensure that water returned to the tank is fully oxygenated and maximize gas exchange during filtration. The pump pushes water up into the basket of the filter, entering through the bottom of the basket and being pushed out the top. A bottom-to-top flow ensures that water comes into contact will all filter media, and cannot go around or over filter media as with hang on back filters with a back-to-front flow. The pump is also insulated and silent, making it excellent for office or dining room aquariums, and has extremely low power consumption for the amount of output – the large Tidal 110 filter uses only 12 watts. Over time, filtration media can become clogged with detritus and prevent water from flowing through. When this happens in the Tidal Filter, water is redirected around the filter and back into the aquarium through an outlet to the side. When this happens, the redirected water pushes up the blue maintenance monitor on the top of the filter, letting the aquarium keeper know that the filter media needs to be cleaned out. The basket is designed with raised slots which catch detritus rather than allowing it to fall through back into the filter when flow is stopped. A heater can be attached to the side with an optional heater clip, allowing for better dispersal of heated water through the aquarium.
